Background in Construction & Renovations


Building upon a passion for creating beautiful, cohesive design, my background spans more than 20 years in the construction industry including working for two custom home builders; completing numerous remodeling projects of my own and for others; and working in both residential and commercial real estate sales as a licensed Realtor. Drawing on this breadth of experience, my current work includes managing building and renovation projects from start to finish, assisting owners with material selections from floor to roof, modifying blueprints and/or floor plans and interior furnishings and finishes.

Design, renovation and building have been an important theme in my life for as long as I can remember.

As the daughter of an interior designer and entrepreneur, some of my earliest memories are playing on the construction site of what was to become one of my family’s first homes. Later, we moved to a Federal style house built in 1832 that had fallen into disrepair. Doing much of the work themselves, my parents' ensuing 10-year design and renovation project saw me through to college years, where I graduated from Indiana University with a B.A. in Journalism. Eventually, through their persistence and hard work, our home was placed on the National Register of Historic Places.

By living through this process for much of my youth, I gained a strong appreciation for the attention to detail required to renovate and restore homes with high quality and inviting design.

Blowing Rock, NC – I’m a mountain girl and love walking to town or through the woods with my family, friends and dogs.

Little Known Fact


Many moons ago, I trained and raced bicycles while living and working at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs. These days, I still love being active but stick to lap swims instead of high adventure.

Family


Married for more than 25 years, my husband David is at UNC and our daughter, Anna, is a UNC grad. Go Heels!

Motivation

Ephesians 3:20 says, “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine according to his power that is within us, to Him be the glory…”.   

These words inspire me to think, dream and imagine a bit bigger, more broadly and more boldly; and I want to bring some of that to the clients who entrust me with the importance of their projects.
